I could only get the fullon patch to work with Max 5.1.8 in OSX though, it just made a horrible buzzing sound (unintentional I assure you) with the recommended Max runtime.
MAX MSP RUNTIME PC
I got the Percolate library which gen24 needs for both Mac and PC so the patch runs great in Windows and an equivalent should work in M4L now as stock M4L didn't include the library.

You can use different loops and change them on the fly.Īnd if anyone can explain what the patch is doing I will be so happy and eternally gratefulįinal Edit: OK figured out the patch! I'm eternally grateful to me. To get it to work (this is mostly for me because I forget things easy):Ĭlick on open loop 1 and load your loop (aif or wav)Ĭlick on read and load your loop (aif or wav)Ĭlick on the toggle box then click on the speaker Max Window says there's no gen24 object (mentioned on his blog), so it's not quite right sound wise, but it's pretty noisy anyway. I needed to load a short loop into both "open loop 1" and "read". If anyone wants to give it a go it's available for download at the bottom of the page hereĮdit: I did manage to get it working pretty good but needed to download the Max 6.08 runtime for Windows. (AMS files seem to require Live 6, so you may have to wait until Live hits public beta currently some of you may be on beta, but the testing circle is limited.) I’m using Live 6 on a daily basis, so you can expect more tips over the coming weeks.I thought this was an interesting patch, but I couldn't get it to work with the Max runtime he's done. If you come up with some interesting presets, let us know. It’s a lot of fun, and if you’re allergic to presets and prefer to shape sounds your own way, you’ll definitely want a copy. The tool lets you generate complex waveforms using additive synthesis: specify the frequency bands you want, try out the sound, then save as a file you can bring into Simpler and Sampler. If you don’t own a copy of Max/MSP, you can download the Max runtime from Cycling ’74 at the Max/MSP runtime page for Windows, Mac, or Mac Universal.
MAX MSP RUNTIME GENERATOR
So it’s little surprise that Ableton is using Max as an aid in generating sounds and patches for the instruments in Live.įor the first time, you can download one of those tools and use it yourself, and you don’t even need a full copy of Max:Ībleton Meta-Sound Generator Software MaWe in its modular form can be used on slower and faster machines running different operating systems including MacOs X, Windows XP and MacOs 9. MaWe has been designed as a compositional and performance tool for live audio and video purposes. MaWe needs Max/MSP program in full or free version (runtime). If you don’t own a copy of Max you can download a runtime version from Max for Live users will already have a runtime copy installed on their computer. MaWe is an exclusive, independent, cost free patch designed for Max/MSP environment. One of the things I like best about Max is that it’s a great problem-solver. These will provide a good starting point for anyone using Max or Max for Live but are in no way a complete guide to using your Launchkey in this environment. I would be happy if you send a contribution, if you like the applications and if you use it.
MAX MSP RUNTIME FULL VERSION
Spectral Toolbox for Max/MSP (source code)use this if you have the full version of Max/MSP installed. Here are patches I wrote with Max/Msp for different uses. The brains at Ableton have long had a fascination with tools like Max/MSP Live architect Robert Henke (aka Monolake) regularly prototypes new software ideas in Max, and long before Live was released, was well known in the Max community as a patcher. Spectral Toolbox for Max/MSP runtime codeuse this if you have Max/MSP runtime installed, but not if you also have the full version of Max/MSP.
